Two arrests have been made in connection with a string of burglaries involving businesses, vehicles and stolen vehicles. On February 10, 2023, at approximately 1230 a.m., OPD officers observed a stolen vehicle parked in the Stripes parking lot located at Yukon and Andrews Highway. Contact was made with the driver of the vehicle that subsequently led officers to an address in the 8300 block of Golder.
During their
investigation officers observed in plain sight another stolen vehicle and license plates. During the execution of a search warrant officers recovered a considerable amount of stolen property. Another male inside the residence was detained and subsequently arrested for outstanding warrants and fail to identify, fugitive from justice.
As the investigation progressed, the Criminal Investigation Division, Property Unit, was able to link the two arrestees to several business burglaries, The Mango Tango, located at 1219 West 10th Street, and Don Saul Automotive, located at 8th and Jefferson.
Arrested: Roger Risher 37 years of age, Odessa, charged with Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle, State Jail Felony, Burglary of a Building, State Jail Felony and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
Arrested: Abel Abila, 37years of age, Odessa. Charged with Fail to Identify fugitive from Justice and multiple warrants from another jurisdiction, Burglary of a Building, State Jail Felony, and Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity.
