The Police Athletic League (PAL) is a youth program that utilizes athletic and recreational activities to create trust and understanding between police officers and youth. Our program emphasizes positive interaction with police officers and other adult role models. Odessa PAL is an active member of the National Association of Police Athletic Leagues.
Summer Camp
Every summer the Odessa Police Athletic League has a summer camp. This year the Department will be holding two sessions, one in June and one in July for 4 weeks.
In this program police officers oversee, mentor and instruct sporting events, teamwork, community service and leadership activities. During the 8-hour day the children will participate in sports activities such as baseball, basketball, volleyball and kickball. We also incorporate sports field trips into this program such as bowling, swimming and ice skating.
This program accommodates up to 60 children depending on our Department's staffing capabilities.
For More Information
The Odessa Police Department recognizes the need to interact with the youth of our community and provide a positive environment for children. PAL helps to develop strong, positive attitudes with youth towards our police officers in their journey to becoming mature and responsible citizens.
